Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté is offering Canadians another reason to visit Montreal, Que., this summer.
Beginning June 2019, the city’s historic Old Port will be home to a new entertainment concept by Laliberté’s Lune Rouge Entertainment. Dubbed the PY1 experience, the pyramid-shaped, illuminated venue offers four possible configurations for a capacity up to 1000 attendees.
The venue’s first production, ‘Through the Echoes’ (Au-delà des écho), will explore the origins of time and space, via an immersive multimedia show. Visual elements will include lasers, 360-degree projections, kinetic video aerial scenery, and atmospheric special effects.
“It will be a totally immersive experience; a technological and emotional odyssey which tells the story of life from the Big Bang until today,” said Laliberté.
‘Through the Echoes’ will run in Montreal until September 2019 before going on tour.
