Digital imaging systems manufacturer Durst Group demonstrated its latest platforms and software solutions designed to automate and streamline the print business at this year’s Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Expo in Las Vegas, Nev.
The company showcased two hardware installations: the first, the P5 250 HS printing platform, recently received an award from the European Digital Press Association (EDP) and is targeted towards high-volume industrial production and one-offs in offset quality; the second, the Rho 512R wide-format roll printer, is fitted with light-emitting diode (LED) technology designed to provide high print quality and productivity, while also offering less power consumption, reduced noise level, and an ozone-free process. This platform’s ultra-violet (UV) LED ink system accelerates the drying process while also maintaining quality, even when printing on temperature-sensitive materials.
Durst also revealed two software solutions at the expo: MAPS (Multi Application Platform & Solutions) for Web2Production, Print Workflow, and Production Workflow solutions; and LiftERP (Elevated Print Production Management), an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
“In software, we are focused on delivering what the print owners need to operate their business,” said Durst North America CEO Tim Saur. “These innovative solutions are designed to increase production efficiency while maintaining the required high-quality output.”
