Interactive technology agency iGotcha Media recently provided two Birks jewellery establishments, located in Montreal, Que., and Toronto, with customized digital signage solutions.
The Montreal location, which is the brand’s flagship store, features two video walls comprised of 2.2-m (88-in.) stretch screens with custom-built enclosures. The installation was designed to complement the style of the heritage building.
“We had to blend state-of-the-art technology with the elegance of a 19th century heritage building,” said iGotcha Media president Greg Adelstein.
Meanwhile, Birks’ Toronto location, which is located at First Canadian Place in the heart of the city’s financial district, features a 4- x 2.1-m (13- x 6.9-ft) screen.
“For us, the challenge was to create something innovative and modern while respecting the essence of the Birks brand,” added Adelstein. “Our video walls must seamlessly run content in the standard 16:9 liquid crystal display (LCD) format, but the esthetics needed to be anything but standard.”
