Gerber Technology, a North American-based company that manufactures design-print-cut systems for signs and graphics, announced a new tool kit designed specifically for packaging and finishing applications.

The debut follows Gerber’s recent acquisition of MCT Digital, a purchase that added modular laser cutting technology to the company’s existing finishing solution hardware and software portfolio.

The company demonstrated two Gerber MCT Cutters with TigerVision software at this year’s Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) show in Las Vegas, as well as Viscom Italy in Milan. One system demonstrated wide-format, high-speed laser cutting, while the other showed its mechanical toolsets, including a new line of packaging tools (i.e. 5Kw router, creasing wheel, heavy-duty oscillating knife) designed to address corrugated triple and folded carton, foam, and triple wall packaging materials.
