   Chesham based specialist print company, The Window Film Company, picked up a third place award in the best SME category at the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards last week.

   The Awards, presented by BBC news anchor Huw Edwards, were open to every company in the Thames Valley region and were set up to recognise innovation, profitability, employment.

Speaking after the event,MickyCalcott, The Window Film Company’s Managing Director said: “2015 has been another exciting year for us. We’ve moved to bigger premises, taken on additional staff, invested in new equipment and have done more business than ever before, so it’s nice to know that this was recognised by the judges. We’re aware it isn’t just business performance that was considered though, with involvement and contribution to the local community a key judging criteria.

   “We’re proud of our links to the area – we’ve been based in Buckinghamshire since being founded in 1998 – and as well as employing 28 local staff, we’re also involved with a number of charities in the region. It’s important that, as a relatively successful company, we do what we can to provide support where possible. We are proud to be involved with organisations such as the Hospice of St Francis, Rennie Grove and the Chilterns Dog Rescue Society.

   “Whilst we would obviously have liked to take first place, I’m hugely proud that the company has been recognised with this award. There were a large number of entrants, so to have come third in such a competitive category is reason to celebrate and is a great end to a memorable year.”
