Lifetime Developments has unveiled Love Liberty and Hustle, two new public murals by Ben Johnston in the galleria of the Liberty Market Building (LMB), which was one of the first adaptive reuse projects in Toronto's Liberty Village.

The condominium developer commissioned the local artist to design and install the murals on large, vacant surfaces within the building, both to capture the culture of the neighbourhood and to provide a backdrop for photo opportunities featuring the new hashtag #LoveLibertyTO.

“The goal with these murals was to stylize text in a way that interacts with each wall face—red brick for Love Liberty and freight elevator doors for Hustle—and play into the raw, industrial feel of the LMB,” says Johnston.
