Mentor, Ohio-based graphic films manufacturer Avery Dennison announces an $18.7 million (17 million Euros) upgrade to its plant in Schwelm, Germany, including a new coater. The new machine offers increased production flexibility with two coating methods and 10 different solvent-based adhesives.
The company says the upgrade will give the company's graphics customers across Europe access to more than 7,600 product variations in total.
“Our customers want the widest possible choice of application options,”says Shaun Hobson, senior business director for graphic solutions at Avery Dennison Materials Group Europe.“This very powerful new resource runs in seven-day operation and broadens our offering further, ensuring exceptional service. The Schwelm investment is one more example of how we are continuing to drive forward graphics innovation and service improvements.”
The new coater was launched at a customer event that showcased the Schwelm plant's comprehensive production and customer service operation, which includes additional coaters, slitters, cross-sheeters and a packaging line, as well as an automated and semi-automated warehouse.
