Seoul, South Korea-based LG Electronics announces its role in the ‘Idea Incubator’ that is the Charlotte (North Carolina) Marriott City Center.
Marriott Hotels chose the Charlotte Marriott City Center for the company's “M Beta” concept, making that property a “living innovation hotel.” It has long had LG Business Solutions as its preferred provider of electronic equipment. For this new concept, LG video walls featuring ultra-slim bezels, along with LG sound bars, were used to transform the hotel gym into an interactive fitness center; LG OLED TVs and monitors were added to the the hotel’s new M Club Lounge; 55-inch digital signage is used in the lobby for wayfinding; about 450 55-inch LG hotel LED TVs have been installed in the rooms; and with new LG kitchen appliances in the rooms with kitchens.
The purpose of the “idea incubator,” according to Marriott, is to test new product and service concepts for adoption across its portfolio.
“LG focused its hospitality technologies to replicate the digitally-driven experience guests are accustomed to at home,” says Michael Kosla, vice president of hospitality for LG Electronics USA Business Solutions. “LG’s robust portfolio of products incorporated into this exciting new Marriott property—from ultra-slim video walls in the fitness center to smart LED TVs in each hotel room, and even a full LG kitchen—create an interactive, highly-personalized hotel experience that feels like home away from home.”
