Brookings, South Dakota-based LED display manufacturer Daktronics announces that St. John's University of Queens, New York, will be upgrading the visuals in its Carnescecca Arena, home to the Red Storm basketball team.
Daktronics manufactured and installed two new LED video displays, which it says are the highest-resolution end wall displays and the third-largest displays the company has installed in a college basketball venue that feature 6-millimeter line spacing.
The displays are on opposite ends of the arena to provide views to every seat in the house, the company says. Each display measures approximately 14 ½' x 35' and includes 6-millimeter line spacing for image clarity and contrast. The displays are capable of “content zoning,” which allows them to show one large image across each or have a variety of images shown in different zones on the screens.
The Red Storm, known as “New York’s Team,” plays a percentage of its home games at Madison Square Garden.
