Hertfordshire-based Trade Signs has kicked off 2016 with a major investment in a 170- tonne, state-of-the-art folding machine, which is capable of handling materials up to four metres in length.
According to the company, the new machine will improve efficiency and capacity at its Tring plant and the intention is to continue to invest to improve its capabilities, efficiency and the service it offers to customers.
The new machine is capable of multi-folding along the full length utilising an Amada AMNC 3i control unit, while offline software allows programmable work to be office-based, effectively reducing the need for skilled operators. It is also equipped with Amada Digipro, which enables angle measurement to be automatically adjusted.
Automatic tooling selection from the NC tooling library eliminates the need for time-consuming tool choice and front-end installation of tooling also saves operator time.
The new machine is also equipped with an eco-drive system that continually monitors bending requirements and self-adjusts to consume less energy, as well as reducing maintenance costs and increasing reliability.
