Mimaki Europe B.V., a subsidiary of Japan-based Mimaki, a manufacturer of wide-format printers and cutters, announces the opening of a new sales and support location in Istanbul. The company, represented by Mimaki Europe managing director Koji Shimizu, received approval from local Turkish authorities and began operations in mid-April.

Mimaki says it was growing importance of the Eurasian market that prompted the decision to expand and open a subsidiary in Istanbul. As the Mimaki Eurasia sales subsidiary, the Istanbul location is focused on developing new sales activities and offering technical support.

The new facility marks a continuation of Mimaki Europe B.V.’s presence in the Istanbul area. In 2013 the company opened the Mimaki Istanbul Technical Centre, a strategic hub featuring a 5,920 sq. ft. showroom showcasing the company’s textile, graphic, and industrial solutions. The center also provides the European, Middle Eastern, and African markets with customer and technical support.
